Title: according to requirements(:

I have decided to post another reflection (:
but this one is according to what ms Raine wants written (:
___________________________________________________________________

(1) Look back on your first post, your opinion on the topic of "graciousness". Has it changed in anyway, how and why?

My perspective on graciousness? Hitherto, I felt that graciousness is a virtue that has to be engraved within everyone's attitudes. However, given Singapore's context today and our Singaporeans ever growing uncouth behaviours, educating singaporeans on being more gracious may be a difficult river to cross. Hence I believe now that graciousness has to start with oneself.

My point is that if it is hard to educate every Singaporean to be gracious by brieving them under a shelter in an open field, then we can make it easier, by only briefing one person, and let him spread the word through his actions. Singaporeans are "monkey see, monkey do" based people. If one were to do a gracious act, then everyone would follow (:

(2) Personal/ Group Evaluation. How well do you think you/ your group has performed?

I feel that this project has been full of entertainment :) . Through this project, we dived more into the content on graciousness, widely mentioned by one and all and even debated about. I feel that my group has done excellently ;D although sometimes it might have been hard, and that we may have not see eye to eye, still can't deny that we had fun, yes? :D haha, it's been nice working with you all ;D I find... :
Berenice ~ haha you laugh. alot. haha
Jagnita ~ you hold the camera btr than me! I shake too much! hoho
Joeslyn ~ hmm you little angel ;D haha.
ShiHua ~ you laugh. the most (: hehe
me? Have I not said enough? I am the best, obviously xD haha! Just kidding.

(3) Any other thoughts on the topic matter. :)

None. So I'll be signing off :D
and hope you do not mind the smileys. lighten the mood (:

Title: reflection

We did 2 posters for this project. One was on the impact of graciousness and ungraciousness. The other was on gracious acts and ungracious acts. For our video,we showed a person doing ungracious acts.By teaching her,she changed for the better. We changed the story of the video after posting our proposal abstract because we think it would not be good if we wanted to give her a taste of her own medicine in order for her to become gracious. We also did not use dolls.I was really glad we did it before the dateline.
We did many retakes during the video because we could not stop smiling and laughing when we were being recorded. There were some problems when we were making the video. For example,we needed to 'order' a meal but we did not know how and we decided to use the Macdonald statue.i made many mistakes and it took quite a while to get the video done but we finally finished it.This will be some of the impacts of graciousness.
-Singapore will be full of hospitality and kindness, making it an extremely liveable city.

-We will leave a good impression on foreigners.

-If foreigners are happy with life here and more confident about the future, they will not be thinking of going to other countries. They will want to make Singapore their home. They may be happy and confident to start a family and live here.

-If we cultivate the habit of serving the needs of less fortunate Singaporeans and internalise it as a core value, we will transmit a caring attribute, which over time is likely to refine our culture and inter-personal relations.

-Singapore would evolve into a community where grace and caring for one another would distinguish us like the Japanese.

-We would reinforce the bonds and inherent strength of our multi-racial society.

-Singapore will act as a role model for other countries to follow because we are a great country with great people.

Title: Clarice's 3rd reflection ;)

I've decided to post my own personal recount, as it was not made clear on what we were to reflect about.

Lately, I’ve been noticing many couples on public transports. Well, it is actually really normal. They’re people, too, anyway. However what irks me about them is the way they behave on these PUBLIC transports. They exchange many “affectionate” touches that I find very disturbing at times. Has it also occurred to them that there are little children on the train/bus too? We wouldn’t want our younger generations of Singaporeans getting the wrong idea, yes?

I was at ION orchard a few days ago with a friend. On our way to the Somerset MRT, we saw a man launch himself onto another girl, presumably his girlfriend, and started making out right at the entrance of the station, in front of so many public eyes!

Although these acts are considered indecent, can they also made known as ungracious? If couples want to make out, they should be responsible enough to do it in private and not out in the open.

That is all for now (:
oh and, much as I want to post a picture with this post,
I can not as blogger is having a problem ):

Title: Shihua's 3rd reflection.

My group have done posters and video for this Graciousness project. For the poster, we decided to paste it in the canteen. It is to raise awareness on graciousness, so that students will change their ungracious act. There are two posters, one of them is about what will happen if you are gracious and ungracious, the other one is about what will cause if you are gracious and ungracious. The objective of the posters is to let the students know that what they should do and what they should not. Reflect on themselves and then change to the right way.
Our video is film at the science centre and in school. Our video is to tell the students how important is graciousness. Through out this project i have learn a lot of things for example how to be more gracious. I did have a lot of fun doing this video with my teammates. i really enjoy it.

Title: Joeslyn's 3rd reflection

For this project, our group had done reflections in our blog, argumentative essay, formal letter, posters and video. For video, we wrote a script about our project, which we spent quite some time filming. The purpose of the video is to raise awareness on being gracious. At first, we wanted to use dolls to act out in our video. But we realised that using dolls is very difficult to act out, examples throwing tissue papers and cutting queue, therefore we decided to act out ourselves instead of using dolls. We also changed some part of the story in our video. During the filming process, we have some difficulties when we were filming as we can't control our laughter and we can't remember our lines. For the first half part of our video, we did our filming at the science centre's macdonald. For the another half part of our video, we did the filming in school. After filming for quite some time, we managed to finsh the video and clarice took home to edit the video.

For posters, our group drew two posters to raise awareness on offences the students are committing. One of the poster is about the ungracious acts in the canteen, examples leaving dishes on the table and not returning the dishes to the respective stalls. The other poster is about the consequences on being ungracius and gracious. Clarice and ShiHua have done the posters halfway before the due date. Before handing up the posters, we completed the posters together and handed in to the teacher.

After that, we will be doing ourindividual report.
From this project, I learnt how to manage my time properly so that we can hand in the project on time. I have also learnt that teamwork is very important when doing projects or group work. I also learnt how to be more gracious, like clearing up the rubbish after watching the movies, cleaning up the tables and return the plates to the respective stalls after eating.

Title: Jagnita's 3rd reflection

My group, The gracious girls, drew a poster regarding graciousness. One of the posters will show and describe examples of some gracious and ungracious acts. The other poster will show the impact of gracious and ungracious acts. The main aim of these posters is to raise awareness on graciousness so that those who have been displaying ungraciousness behaviour everywhere will stop and reflect on their acts and to rectify those habits. Whereas, those who are gracious will continue to be and help to teach and instill graciousness values in others.
Following up with the posters, we also made a video about graciousness. The process of making the video was tedious but fun. Now i wonder how actors/actress remember their lines, feel the emotions like the character is them and act it out. It is really difficult! First, we wrote the script for our video, which we spent quite some time filming. Then, we started by deciding to use dolls in our videos but we did not have much time to prepare the dolls and props so we decided to act out. We had lots of bloopers and we made many many mistakes in saying the lines and acting it out.
We started filming at science center for the first half of our video and we filmed the second half in school. We did have problems in coming out with a suitable and decent script but our teamwork was strong and we managed to do it well. We also managed to finish filming the video one day before the due date! Kudos to us! Basically, i enjoyed working with my teammates and i hope we can work together again in future. One more thing, thank you Ms Raine for helping us film our last two lines!:)

Title: shihua's intro paragraph.

Singapore, as known as the garden city, should have gracious Singaporean citizens. Do you think Singaporeans are gracious? The answer is, sadly, no. For example, when there are elderly board the bus, the passengers who sit on the seat just pretend that they never see anything. Some of them even put on their ear pieces and pretend to sleep. Same story occurs on the other public transports too. When we talk about the cleanliness of Singapore, we will always think of the cleaners. They have to wake up early in the morning to just clean up the mess that we make the previous day. If there are no cleaners in Singapore, then i think the environment around us would not be as clean as now. Even though there are a lot of rubbish bin on the streets, in the shopping centre, and bus stop, we still can see litter on the floor. By doing this, it is not gracious at all. All this tell us that we have to teach Singaporeans about graciousness.

Title: intro for essay

What is gracious? Graciousness is a value you inculcate from young. To be a gracious person, you need to be pleasantly kind, benevolent, courteous, and be indulgent or beneficient in a pleasantly condescending way. To be gracious, you also need to be well mannered, pleasant, and behave in a polite and considerate way. I have seen a lot of Singaporeans who are ungracious like not giving up seats for elderly or pregnant woman, scold vulgarities in public and spitting saliva on the floor. But sometimes, I did saw some Singaporeans who are gracious. When they saw elderly or pregnant woman, they will give their seats to them. Some Singaporeans will also pick up litters or throw their own litters in to the rubbish bin. Therefore, I think that there is no need to teach Singaporeans how to be gracious. In my essay, I will state the reason why we need and why we do not need to teach Singaporeans how to be gracious and there will be examples for both of the reasons, and I will conclude my essay with my standpoint.

Title: Jagnita intro paragraph

Graciousness simply means that a person should be considerate, polite and helpful. Examples of some gracious acts are when young adults and teenagers give up their seats to pregnant women, women with children and elderly in buses and trains , keeping the toilet cubicals clean so that others can use it and keeping the table clean by not spitting bones and clearing our plates and trays so that cleaners' job will be easier. My personal opinion about graciousness is that many Singaporeans are not gracious in many ways and this upsets me to know that we are developed in other ways but not developed in being a moral individual. I feel that graciousness is very mandatory because it helps me grow as a moral individual and others will appreciate us for being benevolent and courteous. Graciousness is not to be taught but it is a moral value that everyone should inculcate from young. Hence , I feel that there is no need to teach Singaporeans how to be gracious. In this essay, i will first state why there is no need to teach Singaporeans how to be gracious with arguments. Secondly, i will state why there is a need to teach Singaporeans how to be gracious with arguments as well and lastly, I will conclude this essay with my standpoint.

Title: Clarice's essay intro (:

" There is a need to teach Singaporeans how to be gracious. " Discuss.

Graciousness. Everyone would know what this word means, but do we know how to be (not act) the meaning of this word? Gracious, the root word of graciousness, means pleasantly kind, benevolent and courteous. Synonyms include friendly, polite, etc. Let me share with you my personal recount of ungracious behaviour. I would take the public transport home daily and most of the time, unfortunately, I would notice many ungracious behaviours. Once, I got onto a bus of crowded commuters. I would notice that commuters who've found seats, usually place bags on the seat next to them, be it just bags of books or anything else of that matter. The worst that they place on the seats are grocery bags, sometimes with milk cartons that are cold or wet groceries. It will affect the next person who sits on that seat. Surely, we humans need the seat more than grocery bags? Personally, I feel that Singaporeans need to be taught how to be gracious. In my essay, I will follow up my decision with agruments, associated with real life happenings, on why there's a need for graciousness to be taught to singaporeans. Finally, I will sum up my essay with a conclusion.
